I was talking to this my mom's friend Mrs. Mateer at church and we were talking about kefir and I was telling her that that it's good for acne. She told me that tea tree oil is really good for acne as well. So I asked my mom if she knew a place that sold tea tree oil and she said that there was probably tea tree oil in the Burt's Bees stuff for acne. We went to the store after church and my parents went in and we waited in the car... When they came back my mom told me that they had gotten me the Burt's Bees acne stuff! I was so grateful cause I was gonna buy the tea tree oil myself, but my parents got me a whole acne kit! I was so curious to see what it'd be like. So as soon as we got home I looked in the box and the first thing that I noticed that I thought was interesting, is that the moisterizer and the spot treatment came in glass bottles! Which I think is pretty cool. I just washed my face with it and if I had to rate each product individually I'd give the cleanser an eight and a half (8 1/2), the moisterizer a nine (9), and the spot treatment a seven and a half (7 1/2). Overall I give the whole kit an eight and a half (8 1/2).
Cleanser:
Pros: Ninety-nine point four percent natural (99.4% natural), Smells Good, leaves face feeling clean, Only have to use a little (4-5 drops) so it will last a long time!
Cons: Not very strong, doesn't have a cooling sensation when you put it on your face.
Moisterizer:
Pros: One-hundred percent natural (100% natural), Smells Amazing, Easy use, lemon grass and hops leave face feeling refreshed and soft, Cool glass bottle =) and a dispenser so you don't have to squeeze and sometimes accidentally get too much!
Cons: Doesn't reduce oil on face like the Clean & Clear moisterizer. And if it does the box didn't say. =~/
(Leaves face about equally soft... Maybe even a little softer!)
Spot Treatment:
Pros: One-hundred percent natural (100% natural), doesn't sting when you put it over irritated or partially popped zits, has tea tree oil in it and also has a cool glass bottle!
Cons: Because it doesn't sting I'm not sure if it's strong enough, you have to shake the little bottle to get a drop to come out of the drip despenser (or I think that's what it's called =~b) which isn't a big deal! Smells a little funny (kinda like mouthwash).
Overall:
Pros: Very simple to use, faster to use then Clean & Clear, leaves face feeling clean and soft and it is almost completely natural!
Cons: Less salicilic acid then Clean & Clear.
If I had to rate the Clean & Clear kit I'd give it an eight (8). I think that using this natural acne solution will be a good detox for my face!
