Movie Night

Tonight is movie night and I'm watching Mary Poppins with my siblings. I haven't watched this movie in forever. I love there accents!!! These songs are going to be stuck in my head for the next month! Haha
Quotes Of The Day
Mr. Banks: Just a moment, Mary Poppins. What is the meaning of this outrage?
Mary Poppins: I beg your pardon?
Mr. Banks: Will you be good enough to explain all this?
Mary Poppins: First of all, I would like to make one thing quite clear.
Mr. Banks: Yes?
Mary Poppins: I never explain anything.
[exits]
Mary Poppins: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Mr. Banks: I suggest you have this piano repaired. When I sit down to an instrument, I like to have it in tune.
Mrs. Banks: But, George, you don't play.
Mr. Banks: Madam, that is entirely beside the point!
Mary Poppins: Close your mouth, please, Michael. We are not a codfish.
Mary Poppins:
"Well, don't stand there staring. Best foot forward. Spit spot!"
"Spit spot! And off we go." "Come along, children. Spit spot!" "Hurry up, please. Spit spot!"
I'm gonna start saying that now! "Spit spot!" Hahaha!

Basketball...

I just played a game of HORSE with my friend Michelle my Dad, Mr. Tom, Mr. Jeff, My brother Zach, his girlfriend Genesis and my brother Sam. Michelle played really well! She got second both times, I got fourth both times, and my dad got first both times. Tommorow is cleaning day but I think since we have been doing this new chore schedule it shouldn't be too bad.

Quotes of the day.

Me:
"Ugh! That shot was total rubbish!"
And
"Stop all this malarkey!"

Genesis and Zach:
Genesis: "I told you that already!"
Zach: "You know I'm your ride home!"
Genesis:"I have other people I can call."
Zach: "Yeah..."
Genesis, "I didn't say they were guys... No, your right, mostly guys."
Zach drove her home. Lol!

Week of Losses

I had lost my wall charger and when I finally found it. (Well actually my mom found it.) I plugged it into the wall to charge my iPod, and it wasn't working. I tried over and over and each time. Failure. So after getting all worked up over it I just threw it in the garbage and forgot about it. (The wall charger, not the iPod.) I just lost my headphones yesterday too... If I find them and they don't work I'm just gonna throw them away instead of trying to make them work and getting mad. I lost my iPod microphone while I was walking back from the store (last week) and today I found out that all three of our Charlie and Lola DVD's have gone missing. This week has been interesting.

Formspring or Tumblr?

I'm thinking about asking to get a Formspring or a Tumblr... Although my parents read my blog sooooo... Hopefully I build up the courage to ask before they read this Haha! Anyway... Which one do you think I should get?
What I really want is a Facebook, but my mom said,"I think were gonna take a break from Facebook." then one day when I said,"What!?!? A nine-year-old has a Facebook before I do!?!?" My mom said,"You can get a Facebook when you're sixteen." So apparently I have to wait two years. Ugh!

Gorilla Glue Blues.

My parents get this glue called,"Gorilla Glue". It dryes much slower then super glue, but once it dryes it is forever stuck. Well today my mom and I noticed that my sister Grace had already detached the bottom of her flip-flop from the top so I said,"I'll glue them together." so I got out the gorilla-glue and it turned out that the glue had dried in the bottle, but it was only the top that had dried and there was some more usable glue on the bottom. So I decided that I was going to take a butter knife and break the top layery of the dried up glue then just spread it onto the bottom part of the sandle with the butter knife and glue it to the top. Simple right?... Wrong. I tried and tried to break the dried up glue and finnally after 5 minutes of trying it broke a little and then I could break the rest from there. So I was breaking it, and taking a little of the dried glue out. Breaking it, and taking a little more of it out until I could easily get to the still usable glue underneath. By then I had a little glue on my hands but not so much as to worry about it, so I just finshed the job and went to wash the butter knife. As I was washing it more and more glue was getting on my hands, so I finnaly finished washing it and I started to wash my hands. As I was washing them it seemed as though the glue was just spreading all over my hand, not coming off. So I decided to stop and boil some water in the kettle to put into the sink to melt it off... Bad idea. Well first of all the water was so hot that I couldn't even put my hands in it and second of all the glue seemed to be drying, not melting! So by then I started to get frustrated and I decided to just peel it of well, as I was peeling off glue from the back of my pointer finger it started to hurt, but I thought it was just because the glue was so stuck to me, but then I looked closely and I notice I was peeling off my skin!!!!! It looks so gross! So then I made a homemade bandage (Toilet paper and tape) cause I couldn't find the gauze. I was just leaving it alone until now. I was going to bed, but the glue felt so annoying on my hands! I went downstairs and tried to think of what I could use to get it off. I started to think of what I used to take off super glue. But then I remembered that I used to peel off super glue no problem... So then I started to think of things that were sticky and I thought,"Bubble gum's sticky!" and then I started to think of ways to get bubble gum of your skin... PEANUT BUTTER!... So I tried that and it worked! Well mostly. My hands still have allot of glue on them, but not nearly as much as there was before.

Chore Schedule

Well my mom has made yet another chore schedule. I have to do allot of new chores, but it's not too bad yet because we don't have school. There is one thing that we have tried before that we're doing again. We are doing this thing called,"Focus Rooms" which means that we will be doing our new set of chores and then after we do that we'll be,"Focusing" on a certain room and cleaning it from top to bottom. We have tried almost every chore program under the sun... And after about 2-3 months they are usually over with, and were on to the next one...

School!

I've been thinking about school lately... Allot... I'm dreading it, but in a way I'm excited at the same time... But mostly the excitement is just a manifestation of the dread. I don't know if that makes sense, but I do know that school is starting in about three weeks and I hope these three weeks go so slow that I start growing grey hairs! Lol! Oh, and I forgot to mention, but this year I'm going to be using Our Lady of Victory's curriculum. Which is apparently really difficult. "Ode to Joy" (sarcasm)... *sigh*...

These are the images that come into my head when I think of this new school year...

Another great movie night!

Yesterday was fun...
I baked brownies and cookies for the movie night (and extras for the family) we were going to have at my friends house.
The movie last night was really cool. It turned out that we were watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose which was super scary. (But there's no amount of scare that I can't handle! Lol!) It was a really good movie though... The actress they chose to play Emily Rose had a strange look about her that I couldn't quite put my finger on. But she was a good actress and if she was actually doing all those things apparently a contortionist!
After the movie my friends and I went on YouTube and listened to the actual recordings that were taken during the exorcism... Freaky!... After listening to the recordings, we looked up information about Anneliese Michel. (the real name of Emily Rose) Then we went to YouTube again and listened to the Drive Through song by Weird Al. (and weird he is!) Then I came home... And now I'm sitting on the rocking chair in my room listening to my sister Grace get in trouble.

Happy Earth Day!

  • Be sure to grab your re-usable bags when you go shopping today! :~)
  • Turn off your lights during the day and when you leave the room at night.
  • Take a shorter shower.
  • Walk or ride your bike to nearby places instead of driving.
  • Thank God for this wonderful planet he has made just for us! (Although you should do that everyday.)
I think today is gonna be a
good
day!

Funny, Interesting, and Awesome Quotes!

I was looking at my friend Alexandria's blog and I noticed that she had put some quotes... I had been thinking about putting a post about quotes so I decided to look up some quotes for myself and I tried to find some that could compare to my life and I only found two! lol.

This is my friend Michelle and me!
The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had.
~Author Unknown

True, If only it were true for Zach! HAHA! :~b
There is no cure for laziness but a large family helps.
~Herbert Prochnov

Here are some quotes and lyrics that I like but don't compare to my life...

Hope... One of my fave Jack Johnson songs!
Your reflection is a blur
Out of focus
But in confusion
The frames the sun did burn
And in the end of a roll of illusion
A ghost waiting its turn
Now I can see right through
It's a warning that nobody heard

It will teach you to love what you're afraid of
After it takes away all that
You learn to love
But you don't
Always
Have to hold your head
Higher than your heart

~Jack Johnson

I used to listen to this song all the time!
On the Radio... Regina Spektor
And on the radio
You hear, 'November Rain'
That solo's awful long
But it's a good refrain
You listen to it twice
'Cause the DJ is asleep

I'm Yours... Jason Mraz
I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed

I guess what I'll be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

~Jason Mraz

This is pretty cool...
Friends are like walls,
Sometime you lean on them,
And sometimes its just enough,
To know they’re there.

I couldn't find who the author of this quote is, but I would just like to say that I did not make this quote and I don't take any credit for it. :~)

I also have some quotes on the side of my blog that have been there for awhile if you haven't noticed them already...

My Review of the Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions...

I was talking to this my mom's friend Mrs. Mateer at church and we were talking about kefir and I was telling her that that it's good for acne. She told me that tea tree oil is really good for acne as well. So I asked my mom if she knew a place that sold tea tree oil and she said that there was probably tea tree oil in the Burt's Bees stuff for acne. We went to the store after church and my parents went in and we waited in the car... When they came back my mom told me that they had gotten me the Burt's Bees acne stuff! I was so grateful cause I was gonna buy the tea tree oil myself, but my parents got me a whole acne kit! I was so curious to see what it'd be like. So as soon as we got home I looked in the box and the first thing that I noticed that I thought was interesting, is that the moisterizer and the spot treatment came in glass bottles! Which I think is pretty cool. I just washed my face with it and if I had to rate each product individually I'd give the cleanser an eight and a half (8 1/2), the moisterizer a nine (9), and the spot treatment a seven and a half (7 1/2). Overall I give the whole kit an eight and a half (8 1/2).

Cleanser:
Pros: Ninety-nine point four percent natural (99.4% natural), Smells Good, leaves face feeling clean, Only have to use a little (4-5 drops) so it will last a long time!
Cons: Not very strong, doesn't have a cooling sensation when you put it on your face.

Moisterizer:
Pros: One-hundred percent natural (100% natural), Smells Amazing, Easy use, lemon grass and hops leave face feeling refreshed and soft, Cool glass bottle =) and a dispenser so you don't have to squeeze and sometimes accidentally get too much!
Cons: Doesn't reduce oil on face like the Clean & Clear moisterizer. And if it does the box didn't say. =~/
(Leaves face about equally soft... Maybe even a little softer!)

Spot Treatment:
Pros: One-hundred percent natural (100% natural), doesn't sting when you put it over irritated or partially popped zits, has tea tree oil in it and also has a cool glass bottle!
Cons: Because it doesn't sting I'm not sure if it's strong enough, you have to shake the little bottle to get a drop to come out of the drip despenser (or I think that's what it's called =~b) which isn't a big deal! Smells a little funny (kinda like mouthwash).

Overall:
Pros: Very simple to use, faster to use then Clean & Clear, leaves face feeling clean and soft and it is almost completely natural!
Cons: Less salicilic acid then Clean & Clear.

If I had to rate the Clean & Clear kit I'd give it an eight (8). I think that using this natural acne solution will be a good detox for my face!

Ugh! I'm so tired!

I can't fall asleep cause it is so hot in my room! I had almost fallen asleep when I suddenly felt something wet on my hand I picked up my iPod and turned it on to find that my thumb is bleeding! The cut that I had gotten on my thumb earlier had re-opened. It is bleeding worse now then it did when I first cut it... Long story short I made homemade candy I went to go snap it in half with my hands and apparently hard candy can be sharp! It's a pretty gross cut... Well anyway it had already partially healed but now it is bleeding again! *sigh*

Doughnuts!

My mom's friend miss Rebekah gave her a doughnut recipe for me to try, and I did! I made the dough for the doughnuts last night and that was quite interesting. I put a damp rag on top of the bowl that contained the dough then I turned the broiler on in the oven to make the inside warm... I wanted to just leave it on for a second, but I put the bowl in the oven and forgot to turn it off! I looked to see if the dough had risen at all and when I opened the oven door the rag was smoking and it smelled so bad! I was thinking,"Oh No! The dough is cooked!" But when I took it out and lifted up the previously damp rag that was now dry and burned, it was fine! Since the rag had been damp it had saved it! Not only was it uncooked it had risen faster because of the heat! Haha! I took it out forty-five minutes too early and punched it down, covered it with plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge. I had forgotten all about it, that is until I went downstairs to get a drink of water. I looked in the fridge to check on it and to my surprise and amazment the dough had risen three times it's size! This is after I had already punched it down once. It had pushed the plastic wrap off the bowl and gone over the sides! Then I punched it down again... This morning when I woke up at 7:30am (When I wanted to wake-up at 6:00am, but my iPod alarm didn't go off!) I looked in the fridge and the dough had risen again for a third time!!!!! I took a picture of it. It's not as crazy of a rise as it was last night, but still. It rose three times! I didn't punch it down this time instead I just flowered-up the table and fliped the risen dough onto it and rolled it out... After I rolled it out I used a cup to make the doughnuts and a vitamin bottle cap to make the doughnut holes haha! (you gotta make due with what you have.) then I let them sit for ten minutes. It was supposed to be thirty, but I had to get breakfast made. Then I fried them, glazed them and put them on a plate. They didn't turn out quite as fluffy and airy as miss Rebekah's cause I added extra flour to the dough, but they tasted good! I took pictures that I will post as soon as I get them on my iPod.

Pics...

Told you! Haha

Mmm I could eat them already!... Maybe not haha!

Now I could! And I did.

My favorite one.

America Runs on Dunkin! Lol! Personally I like Starbucks!

I'm not a very big coffee drinker.
1. Cause I don't want kidney stones.
2. Cause my teeth get stained easily!
3. Cause I get a stomach ache if I drink too much.
But I love the taste! And I had to have coffee with a homemade doughnut! So I poured myself a small cup. =~) But I could drink Starbucks frappuccinos till the cows come home! Haha

Mine turned out kinda dense... But deffinetly not as dense as the ones I made last time!

Naomi and Emma give it a thumbs-up!

Poison ivy and spearmint...

I was cleaning up the corner of the yard: pulling weeds, raking and such, and I came across a small plant that I was pretty sure was spearmint! I love spearmint... We had planted spearmint two or three years previously. Spearmint is a very invasive plant, but I didn't know if that could be possible!?!? So, yeah, I saw this spearmint and I looked through a crack in the fence at the small area that separates the fenced in yards and I though I saw more spearmint! I climbed up on the fence and sure enough there was more spearmint, but not just a little, Allot! So I told my mom, and she asked me if I could go get some so we could transplant it into our yard and extra for spearmint tea as it wasn't in anyones property, And hey! It is most likely ours anyway! I went to retrieve it and as I walked through I noticed that there were quite a few poison ivy plants around and I tried to avoid them best I could. That is until I was using the shovel trying not to cut the roots of the plant. I was crouching down, standing on my tip-toes while I was digging and I lost my balance. I tried to grab the shorter fence, but it was too late, I had fallen into a patch of poison ivy... I hurried up and finished the job, I went back to my house, placed the plant on the porch, told my mom what had happened, then went to go take a shower using fels neptha! The tea was delicious and I don't have poison ivy... Yet!
